TEMBUSU BUILDERS PTE LTD

Tembusu Builders Pte Ltd was established in 2013.
It is in the business of office renovation. We position ourselves as a cost-effective quality provider.
In order to achieve this market positioning, we have gathered a team of reliable renovation professionals that is able to deliver quality job at a cost that will allow us to be competitive.
Establishing Tembusu Builders Pte Ltd is not an end in itself, it is a platform to serve a larger idea - Project Beaver, an apprenticeship programme to help socially disadvantaged youth to establish themselves in the renovation trade. Hence, the tagline - A Future through Building.

PROJECT BEAVER : A FUTURE THROUGH BUILDING
There are many people who, despite a volatile youth, made good in their later years because they were given the opportunity to learn a skill and earn a living. Many of them are late developers, and their talents blossom in the right environment, with the right nurturing.
We believe the renovation industry is one such environment where people can perform, thrive and prosper.  It is an industry that is evergreen with demands, which many people in Singapore shun, but yet faces the challenges of a tightening foreign labour workforce.  But therein lies the opportunity for those who are willing to work hard and learn the skills of the renovation trades.
This idea is encapsulated in Project Beaver.
Why Beaver? Because beavers are natural builders.  They build dams in the wild that spawn new wildlife ecosystem. The dam creates water marshlands that extend inwards from the river, that allows other life-forms to thrive. The dams also capture sediments that filter the water flowing downstream clean.  So beavers, by nature as builders contribute to the welfare of many who live around them and for themselves.
Project Beaver has two key dimensions - it will not only equip the apprentice with the vocational skills of the different renovation trades, but it will also put the apprentice through a psychological toughening programme that prepares them to take on the challenges of life and their industry. A panel of mentors from successful renovation contractors will also be on-hand as mentors and role models for the apprentices.
The initial phases of the apprentice programme will see them attached to 2-3 trades of their own choice, working with the trade contractors in real projects. This will culminate in the final phase with them leading as project managers for renovation projects under the supervision of qualified project managers.
After the successful completion of the graduating project, Project Beaver will present a personalised plaque to the supporting client. The plaque is not only an appreciation of the client's support for Project Beaver, but more importantly, the name of the Beaver that led the project will also be inscribed on the plaque to remind them of their ability to achieve success in life.  It will be a powerful anchor to give them strength to persevere through life's challenges.
With this plaque, displayed in a prominent spot in the client's renovated premises, we also hope it will promote Project Beaver to more companies to support our efforts as well.

TEMBUSU FOUNDATION
Project Beaver will be funded by Tembusu Foundation, a [to be registered] charity [to be formed] to support Project Beaver. Tembusu Foundation will derive its resources from a share of the project revenue of Tembusu Builders Pte Ltd.  Clients of Tembusu Builders Pte Ltd will also be challenged to make additional optional donations if they have benefitted from savings in their renovation by working with us.  In this way, we hope to make Project Beaver a sustainable effort.
Tembusu Foundation will cover the costs of the externally-conducted psychological and vocational training courses, and provide an allowances for the apprentice to sustain themselves while they undergo the programme.
